On June 12, an event was held at the Sapiegos Palace in Vilnius to present the program for 23 new teachers who will commence their roles in Lithuanian schools this autumn. Additionally, 25 experienced educators were welcomed into the alumni community. These alumni have demonstrated significant impact over the past two years, reaching more than 5,000 students across nearly 20 different schools through their own initiatives.
This year, the selection process narrowed down from 310 candidates to 23 highly qualified specialists. These individuals, who chose to transition into the teaching profession, have been selected for the new cohort. These 23 new teachers are slated to begin working across various educational levels and subject areas in more than ten municipalities throughout Lithuania starting in September.
The program’s alumni, having completed a comprehensive two-year leadership program in education, have already been instrumental in fostering systemic improvements within their schools. These teachers have successfully initiated positive changes, significantly strengthening student involvement and enhancing the overall learning experience. They have been responsible for developing and implementing new educational practices tailored to meet the evolving needs of the student body.
The gathering underscored the commitment to professional development within the Lithuanian education sector. The integration of these new teachers, supported by the ongoing contributions of the established alumni, aims to elevate educational standards nationwide.
