Bought the biggest TV in Lithuania

The increasing size of consumer electronics presents a notable contrast with the average residential space available in urban settings. According to M. Jakubauskas, the scale of modern televisions has advanced rapidly; what was considered a significant technological novelty with 115-inch models last year is now being superseded by manufacturers offering units up to 136-inch, which are available for purchase in Lithuania.

Jakubauskas notes that large-screen televisions are moving from a specialized purchase category into mainstream household fixtures. He observes that sizes such as 77, 85, and even 98-inch models are increasingly being installed in standard apartment configurations across the region. This trend suggests a growing consumer demand for immersive viewing experiences, despite constraints on physical space.

This technological expansion contrasts with housing data. Statistics from the State Data Agency indicate that the average apartment size in a city within Lithuania remained relatively consistent, measuring approximately 65.8 square meters in both 2010 and 2011. The disparity highlights a growing tension between consumer desires for larger entertainment systems and the established dimensions of residential real estate.

While the sheer scale of available TVs, measured in inches, continues to climb, the average dwelling size provides a stable baseline against which this technological growth is measured. This juxtaposition raises questions regarding interior design standards and the integration of large-format TVs within typical urban living quarters in Lithuania.
