In satellite photos – kilometer-long traffic jams at Kerch bridge in Crimea(1)

Traffic congestion has been reported, originating at the checkpoint situated before the bridge and extending through to the vicinity of the village of Ivanivka within the Kerch district. Movement across the bridge is frequently halted due to various security concerns, including rocket warning signals, air defense operations, or perceived threats from Ukrainian naval drones. Within Crimea, the combination of fuel shortages and restricted electricity supplies has prompted local residents to increasingly share plans to evacuate the peninsula across social media platforms.

Compounding these domestic issues, occupation authorities have reportedly intensified checks at various checkpoints. This tightening of controls is causing significant paralysis for both civilian and military logistics movement across the region. The ongoing situation has created widespread traffic disruptions.

The necessity for constant security checks, coupled with infrastructural limitations, has severely impacted daily life and movement. While international diplomatic efforts continue, such as negotiations concerning potential troop deployments in Poland and ongoing reconciliation talks between Poland and Ukraine, the immediate logistical challenges on the ground remain severe. The cumulative effect of these restrictions contributes to persistent traffic jams across key routes.
