The court: R. Šimaitis insulted S. Malinauskas’ honor and dignity with a Facebook post

Civil case judge Erika Zablockaja reported on the outcome of a lawsuit filed by S. Malinauskas against R. Shimaitis concerning content posted on Facebook.

The court found that R. Shimaitis’s entry, posted in September 2025, which alleged that S. Malinauskas could be abused, infringed upon the blogger’s honor and dignity.

According to the judge, the court ruled in favor of S. Malinauskas on this specific point. Furthermore, the judge announced that S.

Malinauskas was awarded 500 euros in non-pecuniary damages from R. Shimaitis. The proceedings detailed that S.

Malinauskas had initiated legal action against R. Shimaitis regarding the Facebook post. However, the court decision indicated that the entirety of S.

Malinauskas’s claims was not fully upheld. The report also mentioned a separate incident involving journalists at the LOGIN conference on Friday. During this event, journalists were reportedly subjected to what was described as a “slam,” involving stories not typically covered elsewhere.

The judge’s summary included observations regarding content, noting a reference to “bribery” concerning S. Malinauskas and the perceived success of Ž. Pinskuvienės’ friends.

Overall, the judge’s ruling partially satisfied S. Malinauskas’s lawsuit against R. Shimaitis regarding the defamatory nature of the social media post.
