A prisoner who was released from Pravieniškių prison briefly stole apples and escaped – a search has been announced

According to a report issued by the Lithuanian Prison Service, an escape occurred on June 30th, around 4:50 p.m. The incident took place while the convicted individual was undergoing a short-term supervised visit to a Vilnius addiction center. The individual, identified as Vladislav Gaticho, born in 1994, absconded from his confinement.

The prisoner was housed at Pravieniškių 1st Prison, where he was initially sentenced on June 30th, 2019. Reports indicate that Gaticho managed to steal the electronic monitoring equipment, specifically an electronic bracelet, facilitating his departure from the supervised facility. Upon learning of the escape, responsible authorities were immediately notified, and a comprehensive search operation was promptly initiated.

Authorities are currently seeking information regarding the whereabouts of the fugitive. The public is urged to assist in the search. Anyone who possesses any information concerning the location of the missing prisoner is asked to contact the emergency services immediately by calling 112.
