LRT TV reported on Tuesday that the assignment of the Ministry of Health was a point of discussion following recent political negotiations. Representatives noted that the Ministry’s current state reflects considerable efforts made by Minister Marija Jakubauskienė and her team to improve the accessibility of the health system. A member of the Democratic party stated that while acknowledging the necessity of further improvements, the assignment of the Ministry of Health to their group during the negotiations was unexpected.
However, the representative added that since the portfolio was formally proposed to them through the agreement, the party accepts the resulting responsibility. They pledged to continue the work initiated and integrate necessary changes. Separately, reporting from ELTA confirmed that the candidate for the Ministry of Health met with President Gitanas Nausėda on Tuesday.
This meeting was also confirmed by L. Kukuraitis, who stated that he met with the country’s leader on the same day. The statements underscore the ongoing political commitment to overseeing and developing the nation’s health infrastructure following the conclusion of the political talks.
