Found the place of her grandparents: a surgeon from Australia is volunteering again at the Šiauliai hospital

A seasoned medical practitioner, who accumulated three decades of experience at Adelaide’s largest hospital in Australia, has established a notable international career. Her professional background includes work in the UK, Scotland, and France, leading to a recent decision to take up medical practice in Šiauliai. The surgeon’s expertise is proving valuable within the operating theater, where she actively assists local medical staff.

She has also been observing and noting both the similarities and differences between the Lithuanian and Australian medical systems. Her connection to Lithuania predates her current professional engagement. Two years ago, she first visited the country as part of the Australian Lithuanian choir, “Lituana,” which participated in the Song Festival.

This current visit, however, is accompanied by a different group: two sisters, three nieces, and an 18-month-old child, the latter of whom has drawn considerable attention from visitors. Despite the personal nature of her current visit, her focus remains professional. She has expressed a clear desire to contribute her skills to the local healthcare environment.

Her arrival marks a confluence of cultural exchange and medical expertise, as Australian visitors connect with the local community while she integrates her advanced surgical skills into the regional hospital setting.
