The U20 girls’ team’s start in the European Championship was spoiled by a trauma

The Lithuanian women secured a victory over Croatia with a final score of 89:64 (quarters: 18:11, 18:21, 24:17, 29:15). This win marks the first victory for the Lithuanian women team in Gargždai. Despite being separated by only four points after the first two quarters, with a score of 36:32, the Lithuanian women significantly improved their performance in the third quarter.

They recorded a 14:2 lead, bringing the cumulative score to 60:47, and maintained a two-digit advantage by the end of that quarter with a score of 60:49. The Lithuanian women continued to build on their momentum in the fourth quarter, gradually increasing their lead through strong play. The game concluded with another decisive spurt, resulting in a final score of 86:62 in the final quarter.

The match was reportedly disrupted early in the fourth quarter when Rosita Rusovičiūtė instigated a violation on the court.
