10 preliminary investigations per day for intoxicated drivers

Multiple incidents involving impaired driving were reported across several counties on July 11th. In Vilnius, police reported an incident at 8:30 a.m. on the street on Gabija street, where an individual with a measured blood alcohol concentration of 2.06 prom was found driving a Ford vehicle.

Later that day, at 16:25 a.m. in the Šiauliai district, another drunk individual was observed driving an electric vehicle, identified as an “HK Shansu Techno,” after testing positive at 3.03 prom. Further reports detailed incidents in neighboring areas.

In the Ukmergė district, specifically at the intersection of Rečionių street and Sodų street in Šaukavos village, a man with a 1.56 prom BAC was recorded driving a BMW 3 at 18:39 a.m. The Šiauliai County Police Department documented an additional case on the same day. At 12:30 a.m.

in the Šiauliai district, in Kužiai village, an individual born in 1968 was apprehended after driving a Ford Kuga while under the influence. Separately, the day was marked by a serious accident involving reckless driving. A 19-year-old operating a BMW crashed into a pole while on a Vilnius street, resulting in the deaths of two passengers.

These multiple reports highlight concerns regarding impaired driving and unsafe vehicle operation throughout the region during July.
