Student and DJ Arnas about engineering: sometimes it’s like jazz, and sometimes it’s a heavy metal concert

Vytauto Didžiojo University of Agriculture Academy (VDU ŽŪA) marks a significant academic milestone for a group of students, including Arnas and his peers. The decision to pursue higher education at this institution was a collective one, drawing together students who share a commitment to specific fields of study. Arnas noted that his academic journey is not undertaken in isolation.

“I came here not alone,” he stated, referencing his cohort of friends from Kuršėnai. “Together with two friends from Kuršėnai, we are all enrolled in the ‘Sustainable Engineering’ program. Several of my acquaintances have also chosen to study at the Agronomy Faculty.”

When discussing the maintenance of community traditions within the demanding schedule of university life, Arnas highlighted the enduring nature of their bonds.

While the pace of modern life presents logistical challenges, the group has established a regular tradition of meeting, which often includes friends visiting from Vilnius. The student emphasized that while professional commitments and graduation milestones naturally create distance, the shared experience at VDU ŽŪA has forged a deep connection. Kaunas, the city where they study, has become central to their shared identity, described by Arnas as “our real heart of Lithuania.” The mutual support among friends remains a vital element of their ability to successfully navigate the rigorous demands of their studies.
