The case concerning the attempted robbery of a gas station using pepper gas was transferred to the court

Preliminary investigations reveal that at the beginning of December 2025, an incident occurred at a gas station located in the Telšiai district. The individual involved arrived at the station carrying two plastic containers, each reportedly filled with nearly 2,000 liters of fuel. To facilitate the alleged robbery, the accused deployed pepper gas inside the premises.

The gas was reportedly sprayed toward the gas station owner, creating a dangerous situation for both the owner and other people present at the location. During the ensuing confrontation, the accused attempted to flee the scene. The owner sustained injuries after the accused reportedly struck him in the face.

The man, who was identified as being from the Mažeikiai district, was ultimately apprehended by the gas station workers and prevented from escaping. Following his arrest, he was formally charged with attempted robbery. The legal proceedings indicate that for the criminal acts described, the accused faces a potential sentence of up to seven years in prison.

The incident underscores the volatile nature of the confrontation that took place at the gas station, involving the large quantity of fuel and the use of chemical agents. Authorities continue to investigate the full scope of the events that transpired at the site.
