Is Ignas Adomavičius back? The former minister is trying to take a seat in the vacant seat of a Member of the Seimas

I. Adamavicius, the former minister, confirmed to the portal Lrytas that the final determination regarding his candidacy for an upcoming election has not been finalized. Adamavicius stated that the decision rests with the party council.

“For now, I am one of the candidates. The council is deciding whether I will run in the elections in the northern Nalchya district,” he told Lrytas. This uncertainty was echoed by Tadas Sadauskis, the head of the “Nemuno aušra” election office and a parliamentarian.

Sadauskis informed the portal that the party leadership is currently deliberating on whether to advance Adamavicius’ candidacy. According to Sadauskis, there is more than one contender, narrowing the choice to two individuals. The confirmation of the internal process came as Adamavicius was stepping down from his role as minister.

Regarding the political climate, Sadauskis commented that the preceding weeks had been “extremely tense.” When questioned about the candidates, Sadauskis confirmed, “Yes, Ignatas is one of them (candidates),” while noting that the identity of the second candidate remains undisclosed. The situation indicates that while Adamavicius remains a candidate for the electoral seat, his participation is contingent upon the decision made by the party council. The focus remains on the internal vetting process before any official nomination can be confirmed for the northern Nalchya district.
