T. Valys says that all the finance deputy ministers will be members of the LSDP, the main criterion being the work done

During a meeting with the Democratic faction of the Seimas, T. Valys addressed the composition of the forthcoming team structure. Valys said that the new arrangement would incorporate some continuity from the previous administration, stating he intends to retain several individuals who were part of the political trust and leadership.

The remainder of the team, he clarified, will comprise professionals specializing in their respective fields. Furthermore, Valys confirmed that all deputy ministers appointed will be members of the party. He emphasized that the selection process is governed by several key factors, citing work experience, high levels of professionalism, and a comprehensive evaluation of the current situation.

Valys added that the LSDP presidium finalized the new team assignments on Monday, which afforded him the autonomy to select the composition himself. Adding context to the selection process, V. Čmilytė-Nielsen commented on the anticipated changes, expressing particular concern regarding one minister’s resignation.

She highlighted that her decision-making process was thorough, noting that she retained individuals with whom she had significant professional history. She stated that her assessment factored in past working relationships, extensive work experience, and overall professionalism when determining who should remain on the team. Both speakers underscored that expertise and proven capability remain the primary metrics guiding the formation of the new governmental body.
