The VMVT permitted the company to resume operations beginning July 10th. This followed an earlier announcement on July 8th, when specialists from the Department of Supervision of the Kaunas District Authority conducted a scheduled inspection at the PREZO GRUPĖ military confectionery production plant. During this inspection, the authorities detected serious and systematic violations, leading to the immediate suspension of the company’s activities.
The identified violations covered several areas of the facility. Specifically, inspectors noted issues concerning the condition of critical equipment and mold growth. The exterior surfaces of the external freezing units were observed to be heavily soiled, covered in mold and condensation.
Furthermore, the freezer located in the kibins production workshop, along with three refrigeration units within the confectionery shop, were found to be dirty. These units also exhibited damaged sealing gaskets and compromised ventilation systems. The detailed findings of these violations prompted the initial shutdown.
The resumption of operations, however, was eventually allowed by the VMVT, marking a return to business after the necessary corrective actions were presumably taken. The report highlights that adherence to stringent operational standards is crucial for maintaining quality and safety within the food production sector.
