G. Nausėda hopes that the government restructuring will be the last one in this term of the Seimas

The country’s leader recently stated in an interview with TV3 News that his engagement with the current political structure would be for his last term. He expressed concern that transitions between government administrations inherently introduce periods of uncertainty, a situation he wishes to avoid. The leader addressed Mindaugas Sinkevičius, who is slated to take over as prime minister, urging him to exercise significant judgment regarding his responsibilities and the selection of his cabinet.

While acknowledging the prerogative of the new leader to choose his ministers, the leader emphasized that the competence of the team members must be beyond question. The remarks focused particularly on certain members of the existing prime ministerial team, whose actions, according to the leader, have prompted questions among both the general public and members of the parliament’s opposition. The leader maintained that while the selection process is within the new prime minister’s rights, the demonstrated capability of the appointed officials must not leave room for doubt.

He concluded by stating that, in his view, the competence of these individuals is questionable. The overall commentary signaled a degree of reservation regarding the immediate stability and qualifications within the incoming administration.
