During a statement to “Žinių radijas” on Thursday, a minister addressed diplomatic engagements and domestic economic strategies. Regarding international relations, the minister noted that the agreement was crucial and that discussions had progressed from a remote meeting with the Uzbek delegation to an upcoming live session. A central focus of these discussions, according to the minister, is the geopolitical stance of Belarusian officials concerning the war in Ukraine and their relationship with Russia.
On the domestic front, the conversation shifted to agricultural resources. The minister highlighted that Lithuania possesses substantial fertilizer production capacity, although it is currently operating at only half capacity. To address this, the primary alternatives under consideration involve assessing the maximum operational efficiency and calculating associated costs.
Furthermore, the plan includes engaging with the farming community through memorandums. The goal of these agreements is twofold: to facilitate the use of Lithuanian fertilizers to support local producers, while simultaneously creating a framework for dialogue with the agricultural sector. By implementing such memorandums, the authorities aim to bolster the domestic fertilizer supply chain and provide stability to the farming community.
