On Wednesday, an incident involving alleged firearm use and property damage occurred in Šiauliai, according to initial reports provided by Lrytas. The event took place on July 15, at approximately 12:20 PM, on Vario g. street.
The victim, a man born in 1991, reportedly sustained injuries from a firearm, and the vehicle associated with the victim was damaged. Following the incident, the victim received medical attention and was treated on an outpatient basis. Witnesses reported to Lrytas on Wednesday that a significant police presence gathered at the scene after the shots were fired.
Consequently, traffic on Vario g. near the sports club was closed, and the area was cordoned off with barriers. Separately, and near the time of the reported tragedy, a different incident unfolded when an individual experiencing mental illness allegedly stabbed a paramedic inside a GMP vehicle.
Immediately following this stabbing, the police initiated an investigation into the offense of public order violation. However, authorities later reported that the preliminary data collected did not support the initiation of a formal investigation regarding the public order violation charge.
