A man was injured in a night fire in a multi-apartment building in Šiauliai district

On July 20, at approximately 2:55 p.m., emergency services were dispatched to Kalviškės village in the Šiauliai rural district following reports of a structure fire. The incident involved a residential building described as a two-story, brick structure containing eight apartments. Upon arrival, responding firefighters found that the second floor of the multi-story residence was actively burning.

By 3:11 p.m., emergency personnel successfully evacuated one conscious individual from the premises. This person required immediate medical attention due to smoke inhalation and burn injuries, and was subsequently transported by emergency medical services. It was noted that two other occupants managed to exit the building independently, and no injuries were reported among them.

The extent of the damage included the burning of household items and bedding within the affected room. Furthermore, approximately two square meters of wooden flooring were destroyed, and the fire also spread to damage materials on the first floor. Firefighters managed the blaze at the residential structure, controlling the fire and limiting the spread.

The incident required a significant response from the Department of Fire Protection and Rescue. While the structure sustained considerable damage, the timely intervention of emergency services allowed for the safe evacuation of the residents. Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
