Multiple incidents involving residential and commercial fires have been reported across various districts, according to the Department of Fire Protection and Rescue. On July 20, around 7 p.m., firefighters responded to a reported fire originating in an apartment within a multi-apartment residential building on Algimanto Petras Kavoliukas street. Upon arrival, emergency services utilized two tankers and an autoklētru to manage the blaze, with initial reports noting smoke emanating from the 9th-floor balcony of the structure.
Separately, other fire incidents have been reported recently. In the Šalčininkai district, a fire damaged a store located within a multi-apartment building, resulting in the arrest of a suspect connected to the incident. Furthermore, another residential fire occurred in a multi-apartment building in the Šiauliai district.
During this incident, an individual was injured in the complex’s parking area. Firefighters gained entry to an apartment where burning electrical wires were discovered in the bathroom. The fire burned approximately two square meters of the bathroom area, and the ceiling and walls sustained water damage.
In a notable rescue effort, firefighters successfully evacuated four cats and two dogs from the affected apartment. These reports highlight ongoing efforts by emergency services to respond to diverse fire situations affecting both residential housing and commercial properties across the region.
