Drunk and helpless driver in Utena district caused an accident in which 3 cars were damaged

According to reports from the Utena County Police, a traffic incident occurred on July 21 at approximately 9:27 pm in the Leliūnai village, located within the Utenos district. The collision took place on the A6 road, which connects Kaunas, Zarasai, and Daugavpils. The incident involved several vehicles.

A man, born in 1985, was operating a Ford Galaxy car. Police reported that the driver lacked the proper authorization to operate the vehicle. During the incident, the Ford Galaxy collided with another car traveling in the same direction.

Following this initial impact, a Nissan Note then crashed into a Ford S-Max. Following the crash, the driver of the Ford Galaxy fled the scene of the accident. Authorities located the man shortly afterward at his residence.

Upon testing, he was found to have a high blood alcohol content of 3.02 prom, indicating he was intoxicated. The investigation highlighted that the driver was operating the Ford without the requisite driving license. The police investigation focused on the sequence of events leading to the multiple car collisions.

The incident underscores the dangers associated with impaired driving and operating a vehicle without proper credentials. The police department confirmed that the man was apprehended after fleeing the scene of the accident.
