The Gurtam Toyota Gazzo Racing Baltics team, featuring Lithuanian representatives Benediktas Vanagas, Aisvydas Paliukėnas, and Rokas Baciuška, will not start its planned activities this weekend. This cancellation is due to the elevated risk of forest fires in the region. Aragon authorities made the decision after reviewing meteorological warnings that predict a high fire danger for the coming days.
The area is currently experiencing the effects of prolonged drought, characterized by extremely high air temperatures, expected strong wind gusts, and critically low humidity levels. Authorities noted that under these conditions, even minor sparks could potentially trigger a major blaze. Despite the cancellation of the main event, Lithuanian competitor Rokas Baciuška will still participate in another challenge within the W2RC stages.
He is scheduled to compete in the T1+ class Baja Aragon rally on the track in Bauska. This secondary event will take place on a day when the track is expected to be wet from rain.
