Officers successfully retrieved the item, which contained three mobile phones—specifically two Samsung units and one BM-70—along with two SIM cards branded “Labas.” Later that same day, a separate black package was discovered on the prison grounds during routine inspection.
This second package was found to contain two mobile phones, one Samsung and one Huawei. Both instances of contraband discovery are currently under investigation by authorities. Separately, over the weekend, staff at the Pravieniškės 2nd Prison intercepted two separate attempts to introduce prohibited items into the facility.
During the first attempt, a visitor was found concealing four mobile phones and an adapter within his undergarments. Subsequently, another individual was stopped by officers attempting to utilize a similar concealment method. These recent incidents highlight ongoing security efforts within the correctional system.
The discovery of multiple electronic devices, including various types of phones, and the recovery of packages containing contraband underscore the continuous vigilance of the staff.
