One of the retail chains – salmonella-tainted dumplings: refunds are also possible without a receipt

The Lithuanian news portal Lrytas confirmed to the VMVT that certain products have been placed on the market. These items are manufactured by the Kaunas-based company, “Liūtukas,” which produced them following an order from a major retail chain. Speaking about the situation, the company’s chief technologist described the incident as recent, noting that the product was part of a small, limited batch distributed through only one specific retail outlet.

He confirmed that subsequent to an announcement, the product was subsequently withdrawn from circulation. Luka Lesauskaitė-Remeikė, the public relations manager for Rimi Lithuania, confirmed the recall process. She stated that the recall is necessary because the product had entered the market, and therefore, purchasers are requested to return the items.

She added that customers are able to return the products without needing a purchase receipt. The discussion highlighted the measures taken to prevent potential issues in agriculture, referencing the caution advised to farmers. The sequence of events indicates that once the product reached the market, the necessary corrective action was initiated by the involved parties to ensure consumer safety and compliance.

This withdrawal process involves coordination between the manufacturer, the distributor, and the retail sector.
