From the waitress to the manager: Jurgita Tučiutė, 50 years old, opens a new page in her life

Jurgita’s focus during her reflection is not on professional changes, but rather on the individuals who have supported her throughout her career. Looking back over more than two decades in the food service industry, she reflected on her journey from working as a waitress to becoming a manager. She identified the most crucial lesson learned: that a manager’s effectiveness is entirely dependent on the strength of the team.

More than twenty years ago, Jurgita relocated to Palanga from Kupiškis. At that time, her aspirations were to lead a team and organize significant events across Western Lithuania. Her career path began modestly, starting in the role of a waitress.

Her initial professional experiences included working as a breakfast waiter at the “Vanagupė” hotel, a role that served as the foundation for her subsequent growth. From there, she progressed through various positions, taking on roles such as bartender and administrator. Throughout these years, Jurgita developed skills in organization and team motivation, attributes that have defined her success as a manager.

Her evolution from a waitress to a seasoned professional illustrates a consistent dedication to the industry. For Jurgita, the journey highlights that while personal ambition was present from the start, sustained success required the collective effort and support of her colleagues.
