These figures reflect ongoing monitoring of irregular crossings originating from Belarus. When comparing year-over-year data, authorities noted a decrease in unauthorized entries. Last year, border officials recorded that over 1,600 people entered Lithuania from Belarus at prohibited locations.
This year, that number was reported as 957. Collectively, these actions contribute to a running tally of border interceptions. Since the onset of the migration crisis linked to Belarus, a cumulative total of approximately 25,500 irregular migrants have been prevented from entering the country by Lithuanian and neighboring services.
