According to the minister, the suspect initially used a car to strike people before attacking others with a cutting weapon, possibly a machete. The attack resulted in at least one injured person, and the minister stated that one fatality was reported.
The individual involved, identified as Abdulla B., remains at large. Authorities have noted that the suspect has a history with law enforcement, having been known for a number of offenses, radicalization activities, and affiliations with the Islamic environment. Regarding his background, the suspect is reported to be a German citizen of Lebanese origin.
He was born in 2005, following his mother’s acquisition of German citizenship in 2002. Legally, he had previously been sentenced to one year and ten months in prison; however, this sentence was suspended. Furthermore, the prosecutor has appealed the original verdict.
