On Sunday, several rescues and recoveries were reported across different districts. In Klaipėda, near Varpų street, a body believed to belong to a person who may have drowned was discovered in a pond.
According to Giedrius Vaičiulis, head of the Situation Coordination Department of the Department of Fire Protection and Rescue, firefighters successfully retrieved the individual from three meters from the shore and transferred the body to police officers. Separately, another casualty was found in the Rumšiškės village within the Kaišiadorys district. Furthermore, another recovery occurred at a pond located near Ties Vajakiškių street on Sunday morning.
Authorities confirmed that a body was found at the pond at 10:01 a.m., following a search that had commenced the previous Saturday. These recent events highlight the persistent danger posed by water bodies, even as seasonal weather patterns warm. Rescuers are implementing enhanced safety plans for water bodies in the area.
