A deputy minister addressed LRT radio on Monday regarding workforce transitions and employment support. He noted that prior to the implementation of sanctions, discussions had taken place concerning providing exceptional assistance to workers seeking to re-enter the job market or secure new employment. The deputy minister further emphasized the current labor landscape, stating that with other stores actively seeking 2,400 workers, he did not anticipate significant difficulties for those workers transitioning to positions within Lithuanian or German network stores.
According to P. Petrauskas, the “Mere” chain operates its main stores in Vilnius and Kaunas. He confirmed that the local Employment Service offices have been fully informed of the current situation and are prepared to offer necessary assistance to the affected workers.
