The vigilance of a night bus driver played a key role in the recovery of a 14-year-old boy who had been missing for two weeks. The incident took place in Warsaw during the night of July 22nd to 23rd. The driver of Night Bus No.
2 observed a young passenger traveling the route for approximately two hours without making any stops. Concerned by the boy’s prolonged journey, the driver notified municipal officials. Upon reaching a stop on Handlovska street, officials located the 14-year-old boy sitting at the back of the bus.
The teenager admitted to officials that he had run away from home because of conflicts with his siblings. He explained that he had managed to sustain himself during his time away by collecting recyclable materials, such as bottles and cans, for deposit returns. Separately, the same night saw another incident involving a young female passenger.
She was reportedly apprehended by a kiosk attendant while attempting to rob a man in the back of the bus; the attendant recorded the entire event on video. The initial discovery of the boy highlights the driver’s attentiveness to his passenger’s welfare. The boy’s departure, which lasted several months in his life, required significant resourcefulness for survival.
The authorities were able to locate him after his extended absence, ensuring that his immediate needs were addressed.
