Electricity and oil prices fell in a week, but natural gas and biofuel prices increased

The average wholesale gas price at the TTF trading point in the Netherlands experienced a notable increase over the week spanning July 27 through July 31. According to the reporting agency, the average price rose by 6.5%, reaching a rate of 51.4 euro per megawatt-hour (MWh). Looking ahead, analysis of natural gas futures contracts suggests that market prices are anticipated to be higher in the near term than previously forecasted, with expectations pointing to an increase of 1 to 9 euro/MWh.

Consequently, market observers anticipate that prices could fluctuate within a broader range of 27 to 59 euro/MWh. In terms of supply, storage levels remain a key indicator for the energy market. Specifically, the Inchukalnis gas storage facility currently reports a fill level of approximately 46.68%.

Furthermore, the total volume of gas stored across European facilities stands at about 57.11%. These figures provide context for the current market dynamics influencing wholesale gas prices denominated in euro.
