The first Krabų lazdelės day took place in the Kaliningrad region – the “Vici” celebration mocked the “inactive” sanctions, the Mayor of Kaunas

A new local celebration, the Day of Lobster Claws, was announced for the city of Sovetsk. Initial reports surfaced in late August of last year, detailing plans for the festival. At that time, Arkady Danilov, the interim head of the Sovetsk administration, confirmed that the specific date for the event had not yet been determined.

The concept for the festival reportedly originated from the anniversary of the Vici factory. Documentation indicates that the Vici company, operating under the name Vichyunai-Rus, remains active in Sovetsk at Majakovskogo st. 3B.

This facility is noted as a lobster claw factory owned by the Lithuanian “Vichyun” group. More recently, the Novyj Kaliningrad portal published an announcement on July 30 this year, confirming the inaugural date for the celebration. According to this report, the Lobster Claws Day is scheduled to take place on August 1, along the Neman quay.

Media coverage reported that this marked the first time the holiday would be observed in the region. The development highlights a community event tied directly to a major local industry, establishing a new cultural observance in Sovetsk centered around the Vici production.
