M. Capanas began his senior development at the Split Hajduk club in 2020 while still a teenager, where he quickly gained recognition as one of Croatia’s emerging talents. His progress continued into 2023, when serving as captain of the U18 Hajduk squad.
During this period, Capan led the youth side to the UEFA Youth Champions League final, achieving notable victories against both Dortmund Borussia and AC Milan. Despite his standout performances at the youth level, the 22-year-old player faced challenges establishing himself within the first-team structure of Hajduk. Consequently, the footballer made a significant professional decision, transferring his services to the Vilnius Žalgiris club.
This move marked a notable transition in his career path. Upon joining the Lithuanian club, Capan was afforded the opportunity to continue developing his skills in a new environment. His initial season at Žalgiris was viewed as a period where he aimed to revitalize his form and demonstrate his capabilities to both the wider football community and, implicitly, to his former club.
His subsequent performance at the new team has been closely monitored as he continues to build his professional profile outside the primary Hajduk setup.
