A house in the Trakai district was destroyed in an explosion – a person was injured

Firefighters were dispatched to an incident in the Rudishte area of Vilnius at 7:13 a.m. The incident occurred in a two-story, eight-apartment building located on Naujojoje gatvėje. Upon arrival, emergency personnel determined that the cause of the initial explosion was a gas leak originating from an apartment on the first floor.

Authorities reported that no subsequent fire developed following the blast. One person was reported injured as a result of the event. The incident is currently under investigation to determine the full scope of the gas leak and the circumstances leading to the explosion.

This event highlights a pattern of gas-related incidents across various regions. For example, a separate gas explosion in the Vilnius district previously injured a person. Furthermore, reports from other districts illustrate the potential dangers associated with gas infrastructure.

In the Kazlų Rūda district, a gas leak resulted in a significant fire, which required seven hours of firefighting efforts and led to extensive property damage. Separately, an explosion linked to a gas pipeline was reported in the Trakų district. In all documented cases, emergency services have been crucial in managing the fallout.

In the Rudishte incident, firefighters were able to remove a gas cylinder from the affected apartment. Authorities emphasize that these incidents underscore the persistent need for vigilance regarding gas safety protocols across all residential districts.
