Experts revealed what car Lithuanians buy most often: they identified one striking change

According to D. Lukavičiūtė, the current Lithuanian car market exhibits a notable duality, presenting two distinct realities among consumers. Paradoxically, the segments demonstrating the fastest growth are modern hybrid vehicles and older automobiles exceeding 21 years in age.

This pattern suggests that the buyer base is bifurcated: some consumers are investing in the latest automotive technology, while others remain focused on acquiring the most cost-effective options. Despite this varied consumer behavior, the overall market has achieved record sales figures. Transaction numbers saw a quarter-over-quarter increase, and the total turnover approached the €1 billion mark for the first time.

However, Lukavičiūtė emphasized that this substantial growth was not primarily attributable to fluctuations in pricing. Instead, she attributed the surge to a marked increase in overall buyer activity. The performance highlights the diverse nature of the used car sector.

While the high volume of transactions suggests robust demand, the underlying reasons for this growth are complex, supporting both premium and budget purchases. The data indicates a healthy level of consumer engagement, suggesting that increased liquidity and buyer confidence are the primary drivers bolstering the used vehicle trade. This blend of high-tech investment alongside reliance on older models paints a clear picture of a dynamic, yet segmented, automotive market.
