However, authorities have issued warnings regarding the completeness of the case data. The Africa CDC has emphasized that the actual number of cases may significantly exceed the current figures. During a recent briefing, a service director pointed out a major discrepancy in the timeline, noting that while the official data only covers the period from May to the present, studies suggest the outbreak may have begun as early as February.
The director further stated that there is currently no comprehensive understanding of the events that transpired between February and May. Furthermore, J. Kaseya cautioned that the reliability of the available case data is questionable, adding that the reported numbers are not fully verified.
