When the scandalous circumstances of A. Sinkevičiūtė’s employment were revealed – there was a stir in the Seimas(10)

A. Anušauskas stated to ELTA that concerns regarding the formal and fictitious employment of politicians necessitate a comprehensive anti-corruption evaluation. He emphasized that because the discussion involves the utilization of public funds and the resources of public sector institutions, he proposes adding this issue to the agenda for thorough investigation to ascertain the relevant circumstances.

Anušauskas indicated that a follow-up meeting could take place within the next week. Separately, the LRT Investigations Department reported that on Wednesday, attention was drawn to the employment status of A. Sinkevičienė, the wife of Prime Minister M.

Sinkevičius. The report detailed that Ms. Sinkevičienė was appointed the head of the Public and International Relations Department for the Kaunas District Municipality without undergoing a competitive selection process.

Furthermore, the department noted that she also maintains a connection with the “Raudondvaris manor,” an entity subordinate to the municipality. According to the report, Ms. Sinkevičienė reportedly works remotely for half a day at the manor’s Public Relations department.

However, the investigation also highlighted a lack of transparency regarding her professional details, noting that her current contact information is unavailable. These reported circumstances raise questions about the oversight surrounding public sector employment decisions.
