Ružė Kregždytė will be the director of the State Youth Theatre

R. Kregždaitė has been involved with the MMLAB theatre since 2014, serving as a director. Her professional profile demonstrates a robust intersection between academic research and the performing arts, positioning her as an expert in cultural economics.

In addition to her work in the theatre sector, she is an active member of the Council of the Lithuanian Music and Theatre Academy. Kregždaitė’s diverse expertise has been built through extensive research in cultural economics and the evaluation of various cultural projects. Academically, she holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in economics from Vilnius University, complemented by a bachelor’s degree in theatre management from the Lithuanian Music and Theatre Academy.

Her commitment to the arts is evident in her academic appointments; since 2023, she has served as a professor at Vilnius University. For her contributions to the MMLAB production activities, she received the prestigious “Meno raktas” award from the Scenos meno kritikų asociacija (Theatrical Critics Association) in 2024.
