URM: The survey of embassy staff was negative in the “context of the whole”, training for G. Varvuolis

The Ministry regularly administers employee engagement and job satisfaction surveys to gauge internal sentiment across its operations. Following the conclusion of the latest anonymous survey, which covered both the central Ministry offices and various diplomatic missions at the end of 2025, the Ministry received the departmental results in March. In a statement addressing Eltai, the Ministry noted that the results pertaining to the Lithuanian Embassy in the USA were notably lower when compared to the overall departmental averages.

In response to these findings, the Ministry confirmed it took immediate measures aimed at clarifying the situation and enhancing labor relations within the diplomatic community. According to the Ministry’s account, the receipt of the survey results prompted several high-level interventions. These actions included a meeting between the Foreign Minister and the Lithuanian Ambassador to the USA, Gediminas Varvuolis.

Furthermore, discussions were held with the Ministry’s representative engaging with the collective. Beyond these formal engagements, the Ministry stated that additional steps were implemented to foster an improved working atmosphere for the diplomatic staff attached to the embassy. These measures underscore the Ministry’s commitment to addressing workplace satisfaction based on the data gathered through its periodic employee survey process.
