The new Palanga bathhouse invites on Saturday to free rituals with the bathhouse owner

The opening of the new bathhouse will commence in the afternoon, offering free access to the sauna until sunset. Specific scheduled sessions will be held by professional sauna attendants from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, which will include procedures utilizing a sauna whisk. Breathing sessions are scheduled for the period between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM.

Throughout the day, guests will also have access to an ice bath. The commencement of the new sauna facility coincides with the celebration of St. John’s Day.

This timing is symbolic, as mid-August marks a peak period for nature and herbal vitality. This seasonal alignment revives ancient traditions involving sauna rituals and immersion in open water. Historically, these practices were considered beneficial not only for physical health but also for expressing gratitude for the summer and the harvest.

Such rituals were understood to cleanse both the body and the spirit, marking a transition toward the autumn season. These established customs represent one of the oldest forms of wellness practice.
