After O. Gasanov’s experience in the public toilet – the airport’s response(1)

Tomas Urbonas, the Head of the Operations Department at Kaunas Airport, addressed recent service interruptions following a storm. Urbonas confirmed that the adverse weather conditions caused a temporary disruption to the main water supply servicing the airport facility on August 23rd. In response to the unexpected outage, airport staff implemented immediate contingency measures to ensure passenger comfort and facility operation.

To maintain access to sanitary facilities while the primary water supply was offline, the airport utilized reserve containers to provide necessary water. Furthermore, operational protocols were enhanced during this period, including an increase in both the capacity and frequency of general cleaning services across the premises. Urbonas reported that the water supply to the Kaunas Airport was successfully restored yesterday, approximately at 16:00, and is currently operating normally.

He acknowledged that the interruption to the water service may have caused considerable inconvenience to travelers, particularly when utilizing the airport’s sanitary facilities. The airport management issued an official apology to all passengers affected by the disruption. The statement emphasized the commitment of the team to manage the situation effectively and restore full service capability following the adverse weather event.

The focus remains on ensuring the consistent and reliable supply of utilities to support smooth operations throughout the airport.
