The help of the Lithuanians is no longer enough: we had to call in help from Poland

PGE Dystrybucja, one of Poland’s largest distribution network operators, dispatched two technical brigades to ESO in response to the severe storm that impacted southern Poland. The support included the transport of two specialized 4×4 trailers—a Mercedes 4×4 and an Iveco 4×4—to Lithuania. These brigades are deployed to assist with the extensive recovery efforts following the weather event.

The magnitude of the storm has necessitated substantial logistical support, making the arrival of additional professional teams critically important at this time. The assistance received highlights a shared understanding of natural disaster management between neighboring countries. The operational challenges faced in Lithuania are comparable to those experienced in Poland, suggesting a mutual awareness of the complex recovery work ahead.

The decision by Polish colleagues to extend their expertise and manpower to Lithuania is viewed as a significant contribution to the recovery process. Their timely arrival provides specialized resources that are vital for managing the aftermath of the storm. This cross-border cooperation underscores strong regional solidarity.

The deployment of these resources from Poland demonstrates a commitment to providing immediate and necessary technical help to mitigate the ongoing impact of the severe weather across the region.
