Scientists have identified coffee that may help slow down aging

A recent study involving a large cohort of adults suggests a potential link between specific types of coffee consumption and biological aging rates. The research, analyzed by scientists, examined the health data of 49,414 participants, whose average age was 56. The study compared participants’ daily coffee habits with DNA changes, a metric used by researchers to assess biological age.

The findings indicated that regular consumption of filtered coffee may be associated with a slower rate of biological aging. Specifically, the analysis revealed that individuals who consumed this type of coffee showed fewer indicators of accelerated aging. The most notable correlation was observed among participants who reported drinking more than three cups of coffee daily.

Conversely, the consumption of soluble coffee was associated with a slightly higher biological age among the study group. These conclusions suggest that the preparation method of coffee may play a role in its potential impact on systemic aging processes. The research provides observational data suggesting that dietary habits, particularly regarding caffeinated beverages, warrant further investigation concerning longevity and biological markers.

While the findings are noteworthy, the scientists caution that these associations require further study to establish definitive causation regarding coffee and the rate of aging.
