Drunk drivers caused chaos in the Vilnius region – seven road sweepers were put in jail

Several traffic incidents involving impaired driving were reported across various locations in and around Vilnius on the date in question. Early in the morning, around 7:00 a.m., a car accident occurred on L. Sapiegos street in Vilnius.

The vehicle was operated by a woman who was reportedly not sober and subsequently lost control, resulting in the car overturning. Later that day, at 2:40 p.m., a separate incident took place in Terašiškiai village within the Vilnius district. A man, whose BAC was recorded at 2.81 prom, was driving a car, an Audi A4.

Another collision was reported at 4:50 p.m. in Varlių village, located in the Trakai district. Here, a man who was not sober (2.72 prom) operating a Citroen C4 was involved in a collision with a Nissan.

In the Šilalė district, at approximately 7:40 p.m., a man (1978) with a recorded blood alcohol concentration of 1.84 prom was involved in an accident when his Honda Civic overturned in Dainavos village. The day concluded with another reported incident at 9:54 p.m. in Vilnius, on Priegliaus street.

A man (1975) who was not sober (2.52 prom) was driving a VW Touareg when the incident occurred. In total, multiple reports detailed instances of impaired driving involving various cars across the greater Vilnius area.
