A fire incident occurred on Friday morning at approximately 08:35 in a residential building located on Algimantas street in Kaunas. The blaze originated in a room that housed a repair workshop specializing in radio-controlled, petrol-powered cars. One resident sustained burns during the incident and evacuated the building independently.
The affected areas included a room, a stairwell, and a corridor. Initial reports indicated that the building was not equipped with an autonomous smoke detector. Separately, multiple reports detailed other instances of fire throughout the day.
In the Marijampolė municipality, specifically in the Nartelio village within the Liudvinavas district, a tractor was reported burning with open flames around 16:54. This fire damaged the engine section and the driver’s cabin of the vehicle. A similar incident took place later that day, at 17:47, in the Baisogala district of the Radviliškis district, where another tractor was found burning with open flames, also sustaining damage to its engine section and cabin.
These separate incidents highlight multiple occurrences of fire activity across different areas. The structure of the residential building was impacted by the initial fire, while the agricultural machinery was severely burned in the subsequent reports.
