Viktorija Dačinskaitė, the head of the Strategic Communications Department of the Ministry, confirmed that the ongoing competition has been suspended. She stated to Delfi that the Public Administration Agency halted the proceedings citing the current political climate within the country. According to Dačinskaitė, the resumption of the competition is contingent upon potential shifts within the ruling coalition.
The process for the selection was initially announced earlier this year. Previously, the Ministry of the Environment had communicated specific timelines to applicants. These guidelines indicated that candidates were required to submit all necessary applications and supporting documentation by April 3rd.
Following the submission deadline, the Ministry planned to evaluate the compliance of all submitted materials. Subsequently, the candidates were scheduled to undergo evaluation by a dedicated commission in early June. The suspension of the process represents a deviation from this established timeline.
Dačinskaitė’s statement clarifies that the administrative pause is directly linked to the prevailing national political situation, making the resumption of the selection process conditional until further political developments stabilize the environment. This development means that applicants awaiting the next phase of the evaluation must await official confirmation regarding the resumption date from the relevant government bodies.
