A fire broke out in a multi-apartment building located on Žirmūnų street in Vilnius, according to data from the Department of Fire Protection and Rescue. The incident occurred at 14:51 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the blaze originating from a flat on the first floor of the structure.
Fifteen individuals were evacuated from the apartments located within the stairwell. Firefighters successfully extinguished the fire on the first floor of the building. During their efforts, personnel also removed shutter doors and rescued a nine-year-old boy who was reportedly trapped amidst the flames.
The fire resulted in the complete destruction of one apartment unit, while an adjacent flat sustained water damage. The response to the fire involved significant efforts to contain the blaze and ensure the safety of the residents in the building.
