On June 30th, the Department of Fire Protection and Rescue responded to a structure fire at a multi-apartment building located on Riga Street at 7:06 pm. Firefighters deployed six fire trucks to manage the incident. Upon arrival, personnel reported that the stairwell of the building was significantly obscured by smoke originating from the sixth floor.
Rescuers noted that the design of the stairwell presented structural complexities during operations. Separately, the Bureau of Prehospital Care (BPC) managed a high volume of emergency calls, receiving over 18,000 calls at a gas station in Vilnius over a record-breaking hot weekend. These calls were linked to a potential gas leak, necessitating traffic restrictions in the area.
A separate fire incident was also reported in Vilnius. During this event, a man sustained burns, which were reportedly caused by an electric bicycle that ignited initially. The room where the fire occurred contained stacks of dismantled furniture.
The blaze impacted the sixth floor of the building. These reports document multiple instances of emergency response across the region, highlighting the varying nature of the incidents, from complex structural fires to gas leak concerns.
