Jakonis, involved in the performance, noted that the initial concept predated the assignment, describing a sense of surprise when the opera’s musical themes suggested a vastly different tempo and mood.
However, Jakonis highlighted that The Marriage of Figaro possesses such a broad spectrum of themes that it presented a “huge ocean of discoveries.”
The process required significant creative adaptation. Jakonis noted that while the initial vision was set, the opera’s narrative depth provided unexpected creative avenues. The music for “En Dor” was composed by Marija Paškev.
