Preliminary investigations into a drug possession case revealed that in December 2024, an individual identified as M. A. was found in possession of a substantial quantity of a controlled narcotic substance, specifically cocaine.
The investigation indicated that M. A. stored portions of this drug in both a rented apartment and at his place of employment.
According to statements presented during the proceedings, the accused claimed the material had been imported from abroad with the intention of sale. Furthermore, evidence presented showed that M. A.
had, through a social networking application, acquired a smaller amount of cannabis. In this instance, the individual reportedly lacked the intent to distribute the material. Searches conducted at the accused’s residence and vehicle confirmed the presence of both the larger quantity of cocaine and the smaller amount of cannabis.
These findings culminated in legal proceedings, resulting in a ruling on June 16. The Šiauliai District Court found M. A.
guilty on two counts. First, the court determined unlawful possession of a very large amount of narcotic substance with the explicit intent to distribute. Second, the judgment addressed the unlawful possession of a smaller narcotic substance without any indication of distribution intent.
The ruling formally established the facts surrounding the possession and handling of these controlled materials.
