The Russians say that Ukraine has used new American weapons

The AGM-188A Rusty Dagger is described as a turbojet-powered, air-launched, precision-guided long-range strike weapon. It was developed by Zone 5 Technologies as part of the United States Air Force’s Extended Range Attack Munition program, an initiative launched in early 2024. The stated primary objective of this program was to supply Ukraine with readily available, mass-produced long-range strike weapons at a speed exceeding that of existing delivery programs.

This missile represents a combination of a conventional cruise missile and a remotely controlled air bomb. In terms of physical specifications, it is designed to match the size and weight of a standard 227-kilogram unguided bomb, the Mk 82. This standardization allows virtually any aircraft to carry the weapon.

While details regarding the weapon’s capabilities are emerging, it is important to note that this information has not yet received independent verification, nor has it been confirmed by representatives from Ukraine or the United States. The design aims to extend the strike capability of various air platforms, providing a significant increase in operational range for deployed air assets targeting distant objectives.
